Nick Ireland graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996 and has been working in private practice since 1997. He has developed a strong focus with hands-on treatment and exercise therapy. Since 2000, Nick has developed a strong focus on Physiotherapy within Workplace Health. He has developed on-site early intervention programs, manual handling & ergonomic training programs and tailored health promotion programs for a wide variety of business across Australia, ranging from wineries to large banks to manufacturing to law firms. In the last ten years, Nick has spent the majority of his working life on-site with these businesses, improving health outcomes and becoming familiar with the demands and challenges presented by different working environments.
Nick’s work in Workplace Health was recognized in 2012 when he was a Finalist in the WorkCover Rehabilitation and Return to Work Awards. In 2013, Nick was also part of the Smart Health team who won the SISA Provider of the Year award. He regularly conducts training programs on health, movement and ergonomics for groups from all walks of life. For all Work Health Solutions enquiries and appointments please contact Nick at nick.ireland@smarthealthtraining.com.au.
Nick continues to run private clinics at Smart Health, with a particular focus on running injuries. He started recreational running as a way to maintain fitness during university and has maintained a steady routine of between 30 and 60 km per week over the past two decades. Over the last 10 years, he has run more than a dozen half marathons, full marathons in Adelaide, Paris and New York, and a handful of ultras including the Heysen 105k.
He continues to run regularly, competing at local Parkruns and trying desperately not to allow age to slow him down. More recently, he has helped coach his daughter to qualify for Nationals in middle distance and cross country.
If you’re looking to start jogging for your general health & fitness, struggling with persistent running injuries, or looking to build your running performance to the next level, Nick has both the clinical and running experience to help you achieve your running goals.
